Getting Started
What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is Mattel's secondary peer-to-peer marketplace that allows users who have purchased Mattel virtual collectibles to buy and sell them, to complete collections, and to find a like-minded community.

The Marketplace displays “Powered by Rarible.” What is Rarible?
Rarible is our partner for providing the secure infrastructure for this Marketplace. Rarible is a top multichain, community-centric virtual collectible marketplace provider, consistently innovating on decentralized solutions for the web3 space.

Do I need a Mattel Login account to access the Marketplace?
Yes. The Marketplace is governed by the same account as you use on Mattel Creations.

How do I create a Mattel Login account?
Click on "Create an account" in the upper-right corner of https://creations.mattel.com/ to start the process. In the Marketplace, you can also sign up for an account via the sign-in prompt, but choose “Sign Up” instead.

Besides a Mattel Login account, what else do I need to use the Marketplace?
You also need a wallet and cryptocurrency to buy and sell virtual collectibles on the Marketplace. A wallet will automatically be created for you inside your Mattel Login account when purchasing your first virtual collectible. For more information regarding cryptocurrency, please refer to the Transactions FAQs.

Throughout the Marketplace, I see the term “Flow.” What is Flow?
Flow is the blockchain currently used to mint virtual collectibles for Mattel Creations. Transactions on the Flow blockchain are made via Flow tokens, its namesake cryptocurrency. Throughout the Marketplace, the term “Flow” is used in reference to Flow tokens, to indicate the price of listed items on the Marketplace.

What terms and policies do I need to know before using the Marketplace?
Here's a list of terms and policies that apply and you should familiarize yourself with before you get started:
Mattel EULA
Mattel Privacy Statement
Rarible Terms of Service
Rarible Privacy Policy
Coinbase Legal and Privacy

Using the Marketplace
What can I do on the Marketplace?
The Marketplace allows you to browse virtual collectible listings and buy those items from other collectors that are put up for sale. Buying a virtual collectible on the Marketplace is a great way to find a coveted virtual collectible you missed out on during a previous drop. You can also sell your virtual collectibles to other community members.

What can I buy and sell on the Marketplace?
Currently, the marketplace is intended for peer-to-peer trading only. Inventory is based on previous Mattel virtual collectible drops on Mattel Creations. As of this moment, the Marketplace setup is geared towards trading opened virtual collectibles (virtual collectible cards) but not unopened packs. Additionally, the redeemable components of our virtual collectibles are also currently not tradeable on the Marketplace.

How do I find a virtual collectible I like?
You can sort and filter by criteria like price, rarity, and collection name, making it easier to find the virtual collectibles you're looking for.

How do I buy a virtual collectible on the Marketplace?
You’ll need to be logged in to your Mattel account to begin. You’ll also need Flow tokens to make a purchase.

You can go to virtual.mattel.com through Mattel Creations or add the URL directly in your browser, which will take you to the Marketplace. To find the virtual collectible you’re looking for, browse the filter by criteria including price, rarity, and collection name.

Once you’ve found the virtual collectible you wish to purchase, hover over the item and click "Buy Now" to see the checkout with a listing price. If you have enough Flow tokens in your Mattel wallet, you can proceed with payment by clicking the "Confirm Purchase" button. Otherwise, by clicking the "Top Up ia Coinbase" button, you will be taken to Coinbase to add enough tokens to make the purchase.

How do I list a virtual collectible for sale on the Marketplace?
Click on your user icon in the top right-hand corner of the Marketplace, and select “My Items” to see all of your virtual collectibles. Then, on the “My Items” screen, select the virtual collectible you want to sell. Click the "List for Sale" button to add a list price. (Please note that this will be a fixed price – the Marketplace does not allow bidding.) The default sale duration is 3 months, but you can change it if you wish.

Click the "List for Sale" button again after adding your list price and duration, and the virtual collectible will appear as a listed item.

Once it’s listed, you can find it in the “Active Listings” filter under “My Items.”

Can I list multiple items at once?
You can list as many items for sale as you want. However, you can only add listings to the Marketplace one at a time – currently, there is no bulk-listing feature.

How do I set the price for my listing?
You can determine your own listing price based on what you believe is a fair price for the virtual collectible you’re selling. Once you enter the listing price, the price is fixed. Currently, bidding is not supported on our marketplace.

I listed a virtual collectible for sale but changed my mind. What can I do?
Open “My Items” on the Marketplace and then click "Active Listings." There you can find the item you listed for sale and cancel the listing.

Where do I see my virtual collectibles in the Marketplace?
Click on your user icon in the top right-hand corner of the Marketplace, and select “My Items” to see all of your virtual collectibles.

Can I resell my virtual collectibles on other third-party markets, such as OpenSea or SuperRare?
Currently, it is not possible to trade our virtual collectibles on other sites. Our intention is to provide you with a single destination to complete your Mattel collections.

Do I need to own virtual collectibles first to use the Marketplace?
No. Even without owning virtual collectibles, you can access the Marketplace. Should you decide to make a purchase, you’ll be prompted to sign in with a Mattel Login account, or to sign up if you don’t have one already. The Mattel account will also create a wallet that will hold your virtual collectibles once you purchase them.

Transactions
What do I need to perform transactions on the Marketplace?
You’ll need to be logged in to your Mattel account. You’ll also need Flow tokens to make a purchase. Flow tokens can be obtained via our partner Coinbase without leaving the Marketplace. If you don’t already have a Coinbase account, you can set one up easily and directly within our Marketplace.

Please note: Some browsers, such as Safari, require pop-ups to be enabled for a given website. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups from Mattel.com websites, or you won’t be able to log in and sign up at the Marketplace.

What are Flow tokens, why do I need them, and how do I get them?
To trade virtual collectibles on the Marketplace, you need to be able to transfer Flow tokens into your Mattel wallet. Flow tokens are a type of cryptocurrency used for the Flow blockchain. To make it easy for you, your purchase of Flow tokens is integrated with our partner Coinbase.

Via Coinbase, you can easily purchase Flow tokens in the amount that you desire. Once purchased, you can then transfer these Flow tokens to your Mattel wallet and use them as payment for your Marketplace transactions. To purchase Flow tokens on Coinbase, you will be required to sign up for a Coinbase account/cryptocurrency wallet. To learn more about Coinbase, visit https://www.coinbase.com.

I found a virtual collectible that I like. How do I purchase it?
Listings on the Marketplace display a “Buy Now” button. Click the button, and you’ll be guided through the purchase process.

Generally speaking, first you’ll need to sign into your Coinbase account. Then, you’ll transfer the amount of Flow tokens needed from Coinbase to your Mattel Login wallet to complete the transaction.

If you need to sign up for a Coinbase account, or you need to add enough Flow tokens to your account to complete the purchase, you’ll be guided through those processes as well.

The checkout links me to Coinbase. What is Coinbase, and why do I need it?
Coinbase is a secure and easy-to-use platform for accessing cryptocurrency. Over 108 million people and businesses trust Coinbase to buy, sell, and manage crypto.

For our Marketplace, Coinbase offers the ability for you to buy cryptocurrency (Flow tokens) to purchase virtual collectibles listed on our Marketplace, and the ability to cash out earned Flow tokens from sold items back to your preferred currency and your preferred payment method, such as your bank account. For more information, visit Coinbase.

How will I know that my transaction was successful?
You’ll receive confirmation emails sent by Mattel. In addition, once you have sold or bought a virtual collectible, you will see that item removed or added from “My Collection” on Mattel Creations and “My Items” on the Marketplace as well.

If I sell my virtual collectible on the Marketplace, how will I receive payment?
You’ll receive an email that confirms your successful transaction and provides instructions on how to transfer your received Flow tokens from your Mattel wallet to your Coinbase wallet.

On Coinbase, you can then convert and cash out your received amount in fiat currency to your bank account or other preferred method of payment.

I just sold a virtual collectible. The listing price and the total amount I received in my wallet are different. Why is that?
Service fees, and royalty fees taken by a licensor, may apply to the sale and will be charged from your listing price when the listed virtual collectible is sold. The total amount you receive after the sale is the amount after those fees have been charged.

What are royalty and service fees, and why do I have to pay those?
Royalty fees are crypto payouts to licensors based on the secondary sale of a virtual collectible. Service fees are the fees charged on transactions by a marketplace for their services.

Collection
Can I see all my virtual collectibles on the Marketplace?
Yes. Click on your user icon in the top right-hand corner of the Marketplace, and select “My Items” to see all of your virtual collectibles.

Is the list of my virtual collectibles on the Marketplace and on Mattel Creations the same?
Yes, they are the same. You can conveniently find all virtual collectibles you own under “My Collection” on Mattel Creations and under “My Items” on the Marketplace.

Do you drop new virtual collectibles directly on the Marketplace?
No. The Marketplace is intended to facilitate secondary sales among peers. For new drops, please subscribe to Mattel Creations or join our Discord channel for drop announcements.

Community and Support
I bought a virtual collectible, and I thought the transaction was successful, but nothing was removed from my balance, and the item did not appear in “My Items.” Why?
Sometimes when many people want to buy the same virtual collectible at the same time, your transaction may be confirmed locally but not executed on the Flow blockchain. You’ll know that your transaction has been executed on the blockchain when you see the second confirmation window pop up.

I bought Flow tokens, but I don't see them available for transfer between my Coinbase wallet and my Mattel wallet. Why is that?
Check that the transaction was successful first – it will need to be executed on the Flow blockchain, after which you’ll see a second confirmation window pop up.

If the transaction was unsuccessful, the tokens will not show up in the Mattel wallet, and you'll need to try sending them from your Coinbase wallet to your Mattel wallet again.

Please note that blockchain transactions are not immediate, so your transaction may take a little while to be confirmed.

I’m having issues with the Marketplace. How do I get support?
